Posts
I’ve dropped three blog posts in my All 66 Books series since my last Rhenáe’s Recap. Check them out below:
I previously struggled with these books. I know I have tried to read Genesis and Exodus a dozen times. While I usually succeed with Genesis, this journey was my first time reading Exodus and Job all the way through.
I wrote about how I was/am in a season where I am struggling with time management, routines, and schedules. As someone who loves all things planning and thrives on being able to check things off when accomplished, this was hard to admit. But thanks to my therapist, I realized I needed to adjust. So click on this picture to head to the blog post and read about what changes I am making and what I have been doing to help me.
One of the ways that I am hoping to continue to focus on home is by getting my cleaning back on track. I decided to do FlyLady again, and I wrote a really long blog post that outlines all of the details. Trust me, I am saving you a bunch of time because the information is all over the place on her website. Since writing that post, I’ve been in full-blown deep cleaning mode. I kind of wanted to do the heavy traffic areas first, so I can focus on building routines and maintenance when I start FlyLady for good in May. Click the pic to head to the post.
I’m excited about what is to come for May, so make sure you are subscribed to my email list to get notified immediately of new blog posts.
Books
I joined a book club at church, and this is the book that was picked. I was skeptical at first because it was one of those Universe books, and I believe that God created the universe, I don’t believe in praying to the Universe. But manifestation and affirmations have been heavy on my mind the past few months (remember this post?). So I decided just to go ahead and order the book. We’ve only done the first three chapters, but I am happy I am reading it. It’s clear that she has some type of faith. I appreciate that she says that when she says Universe, we can interchange it with God or whoever the reader believes in. But she frequently refers to God when she is talking about a higher power. It’s almost like she says Universe at times to bring in all readers.
YouTube
I think I mentioned in the last post that I have been watching YouTube videos and some geared specifically toward’s April’s Year of Healthy topic, Home. Well, I stumbled across, yoduvh Essentials channel and OMG, this was a rabbit hole I didn’t think I would come out of. She DIY’s expensive home decor pieces.
I also came across Bargain Bethany’s channel, and I can’t wait until I can hit the stores again because the Dollar stores are calling my name. I’ve been in a cooking, cleaning, and decorating mood with my YouTube finds. Here are some more channels I have been watching and loving:
Morgan Tracy J. – Faith, Fashion, & Fearlessness
Brianna K – Motherhood + Lifestyle Videos
Brittany Vasseur – Home + Lifestyle + Organization
Chelley Royston – Beauty, Lifestyle & Cleaning Motivation
Nina Renee24 – Beauty & Lifestyle
Nitraa B- Lifestyle, Fashion, and Beauty
I was never a DIY person until it was time to decorate our house after we bought it. I had a good friend at the time who was/is fantastic at decorating and decor, and she helped me out a ton! I never realized what a can of paint could do. And watching these videos has me a bit guilty for all of the things I’ve gone out and purchased when I could have done them myself for the low!
My journey has been on hold for a few weeks due to my focus being on home and family for the past couple of weeks. I plan on giving an update on this soon to explain why that is perfectly okay.
I hope you can find some good reading and some great binge-worthy videos to watch in this recap. Leave me a comment and let me know how your week was!
